The "chunky monkeys" are doing well. Madison weighs 3 lbs., 9 ounces and Mackenzie weighs 3 lbs., 5 ounces. They are also doing a great job of tolerating the lowering of their oxygen. Getting off of oxygen and improvement in digestion are really the only issues these two little girls are dealing with at this time - and they are doing it in style!

Thanks to all of you who are praying for these babies and their parents. It has meant everything to all of us and the support has been overwhelming. Gramps and Janny are "hunkering down" to ride out Hurricane Ike so the next blog post might be a few days away. It depends on electricity outage and how long it lasts.

Speaking of hurricanes - Madison and Mackenzie have a new "suite mate". They have been evacuating Neonatal ICU's on the coast and the NICU where the girls are have taken on more babies and one has been placed in between Madison and Mackenzie. I had seen this on the news several times in the past but until we had pre-mature babies of our own, it really didn't hit me like this evacuation has. They are so fragile and "hats off" to these doctors and nurses who orchestrate these evacuations.
